A better hotter week

The kids are doing much better! So today we went to our nearest park- we have so named it Canal Park - for the morning. Miriam loved climbing on the rocks and seeing the rose bushes. Hard thing for her, is that grass here is for looking at and not playing in. They have signs all over that you can not be on the grass. So it was just the sidewalk and rocks for us.

People here love to touch babies, and Miriam. They are pretty amazed at her hair and her blue eyes. So at the park today ,Grandmas mainly, were wanting to talk to her and tell her how pretty she is. I always try to explain to her, that this is a different culture and we need to be polite, but it is okay to tell people not to touch you! As I was telling her this (again) she just put her head in her hands and shook her head saying "I just don't get it". Anyway, she is getting bolder in telling people hello if she likes them, and Do NOT touch me please (in chinese) if she does not. It was good at the park to see her more confident and wanting to explore what was around her.

This picture is in front of a big stone carving that celebrating a certain ruler in China. It is hot HOT here and after a few hours in the park we came home to rest and have some lemonade. - Emily

So how hot is hot, hot? We've got temperatures of about 90 degrees here in Prague, and it feels like 90% humidity. But, that's a far cry from Phoenix, where we'll be next week. I guess it's pushing 120 degrees there, but the humidity is all over the place. I'm sure China can get to stifling hot though! Stay cool!
