Great Drum Tower

Well we packed up the kids on the bikes and went out to see another section of the city yesterday which included the Great Drum Tower. This is where they used to drum to let people know what time it was.

Miriam pretended she was "Mulan" and loved the old building. The pictures are: me and the kids in front of what they say is the world's largest drum and our Mulan in front of the tower. Of cource when we got to the very top of the tower Mulan announced she needed to go potty. So we found this bathroom (Joab said he would only give us a 1/2 star rating).

Our adventure today is to start my student visa (and then the kids will come under me to have their visas too). Getting a student visa is no easy task. It includes: a medical physical, friends from T-bird getting out of storage in AZ the kids orginal birth certificates (thanks Ao!) and sending them to us here, then going to the US Embassy to make sure the certificates are real and getting an offical US embassy stamp, then applying for the visas, then paying too much money, then waiting, then (hopefully) visas!!!

I start Chinese classes Monday, and have them Mon and Wed for 1. 5 hours. I am excited to start and go back to school after so many years!! I will let you know how it goes......Em
