Old Stuff Now New

We have wanted to get some new furniture for our place for sometime now. But the idea of braving IKEA with two kids on a Saturday sounded about as much fun as going to the Doctor...so we opted for another route. Chinese Antique Stores.

Joab and I braved the electric bike (no kids they got a babysitter). We had a blast first trying to find the right stores and then diving into all the treasures/junk to find what we wanted. Most stuff was covered with a lot of dust and grime and a lot of it just needed to be thrown into a dumpster. But someone's trash is another person's treasure and we found two!

The first is a great side table that either came from Japan or was made for Japanese in China. As the cabinet contains many suns that represent the Japanese flag.

The second was a trunk for storing either cute kids or extra shoes/bike helmets/sports gear. We had a great time and hope to go back soon.

So, what I want to know is how all these treasures fit on an electric bike? Sweet finds, guys!

SO COOL! I love the way you guys live. Your finds beat my recent score of t-shirts and a puffy jacket at the Goodwill.

And I want to know how you got it home, too!!!
