Post Chinese New Year

Okay- so Chinese New Year really does not end until Saturday! We still have a few fireworks every night. But it is wrapping up and what a celebration it was! Above is Joab at a huge Coke Ad near the Pearl Tower Downtown Shanghai.

Sunday night was the "God of Wealth" night. They shoot off firecrackers all night to welcome this God into the New Year. The fireworks you sit on a lawn chair on the 4th of July to watch... you can buy here on the streets. It is kind of hard to put it into words how loud it is.
On Sunday night I slept in between my kids on a single bed...they slept right through it! But I did not! Finally at midnight we all moved into our bed again sleeping kids not sleeping parents. In total on Sunday night we had fireworks from about 10 PM until 6 AM. When we finally opened our curtains we saw all the red paper that surronds the fireworks on the lawn below. The above is out the kid's window.

Outside they had begun to clean up the mess. There were stacks and stacks of these firework boxes all over the cost between $ 35-100 USA a piece.

An upclose to the box.
All in all it was an interesting thing to experience. I am not sure if I am "looking forward" to another Chinese New Year anytime soon. But it was great to connect with friends and have Joab home all week.

Great pictures! It is fun to see where all of that noise comes from! See you soon!
